Wanted to say I heartily agree with you on the money and business issue. I've been working at a small private company for about 6 years (first as an intern, now full time) where our biggest focus is on delivering good software and making enough money to keep delivering good software. But from the friends I know and blogs I read, its clear this is fairly rare. I think its simply up to those of us who care to do good work to stay focused on doing good work whenever we possibly can.
