Here it is, hopefully it will be more random and less dull than this blog is

I wrote a big post on the 3D modeler Blender, but in trying to delete the spammer link that some random bot had posted, accidentally deleted the post itself. Great. Well here’s the 2 second summary:

• Blender: New website, new release, is much more awesome
• Push Numpad5 to switch Blender out of orthogonal mode and the viewport won’t look broken and wrong
• Go into options and switch rotation mode from trackball to turntable and you won’t end up gimbal locking yourself all the time

Happy 1st birthday to my blog

I’ve added a few small fixups to my blog, namely fixing the fonts on Windows so that they’re more readable as well as adding code highlighting courtesy of Dean’s Code Highlighter v1.0. Check out this post for an example.

I’ve decided that I’ll be redoing paulbetts.org because while it’s definitely functional right now, Portage is completely hosed and the software on the machine is getting quite out of date. But the main reason? This suddenly got awesome.

Kiel told me earlier this week that comments on my blog were broken. After some investigation, evidently Brian’s Threaded Comments + WordPress 2.0 = Disaster. I deleted the plugin and now it’s all good again

Update:
Kiel Fleming:   This is the worst day in the history of man. forget pearl harbor or 9/11. Even terrorists wouldn’t stoop so low as to close 50 cent movie night. It will never be 6:15 in my heart again. This is like when Henry Blake was killed on MASH. As Billy Joel said it, “Why do the good die young?”

Hey, just as an announcement, if I’m not answering my phone these days, it’s because the other day it decided that the joystick didn’t need to work anymore, so now I can’t make any outbound calls unless I have the number memorized. Hopefully I’ll be getting a new phone fairly soon.

Although, it’s been quite nice without a phone, and I’m very seriously considering other alternatives.
